Terms of Service

2. Your account

You must be at least 16 years old. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must agree to these Terms and handle any payment. Give a real email address and keep your password private. You are responsible for activity on your account. Tell us at privacy@story-system.com if you think someone else has used it.

3. Your writing stays yours

You own everything you write, upload or import (“your content”). We claim no ownership of it. You give us a limited license to store, copy, process, display and convert your content only to run Story System for you, including sending it to the service providers named in the Privacy Policy. The license ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies in backups until they age out.

4. AI processing

When you import a script, we use an AI service to analyze its content and identify story beats. The provider does not use that content to train its models. We do not use your content to train AI models. To find and fix import problems, authorized members of our team may review an imported file and its analysis, only for that purpose and only while you keep it in Story System. AI analysis can make mistakes; review the result before you rely on it.

5. What you may not do

Do not upload content you do not have the right to use; break the law; try to reach another writer’s work; probe, overload or bypass the security or limits of Story System; resell access; or use automated means to extract data from it.

6. Plans and payment

Paid plans renew automatically each month or each year, depending on the plan you choose, until you cancel. Prices are shown on the plans page before you subscribe. Stripe processes payments. You can cancel at any time from your subscription page; your plan stays active until the end of the paid period. We do not refund partial periods. If a payment fails, we may limit creating and importing projects; your existing writing stays available. We’ll notify you before changing your subscription price and explain how to cancel.

7. Free trial

New accounts get a seven-day free trial with the limits shown on the plans page. To start the trial, you must provide a credit card through Stripe Checkout. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, your paid subscription begins and you will be charged for your chosen plan when the trial ends. An active paid subscription is required to continue using the app after the trial. You keep your writing and can access your billing controls and basic writing recovery.

8. Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time from your account settings. Your projects are deleted with it. When you delete a project or your account, it disappears from Story System right away. We keep it for 30 days, then delete it permanently. Export your writing before you delete your account. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these Terms, and will tell you why unless the law or safety prevents it.

9. Changes to the service and these Terms

We may change features. We will give at least 30 days’ notice by email of a material change to these Terms, and ask you to accept the new version when you next sign in.

10. Disclaimers

Story System is provided “as is”. We work to keep your writing safe, but keep your own copies of important work. We do not promise the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

11. Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and US$50. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

12. Law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA. Disputes go to the state and federal courts in Los Angeles County, California, unless the law of your country gives you the right to bring a claim where you live.
